Yvan is back after two weeks in Poland

Yvan has spent two weeks at the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of

Łódź, where he was invited to give a course on Radical Chemistry.

Many thanks to Prof. Sławomira Skrzypek, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and to Prof. Bogna Rudolf, Head of the Department of Organic Chemistry. Yvan is also grateful to the group of students who followed his course: particularly bright young people, respectful, dynamic and curious. Thanks are addressed, too, to all the people Yvan met and shared discussions with. They cannot be cited all but some of them are listed here: Magdalena Ciechańska, Grzegorz Mlostoń, Rafał Karpowicz, Konrad Kowalski, Jarek Lewkowski, Zbyszek Malinowski, Damian Plażuk, Anna Wrona-Piotrowicz, Janusz Zakrzewski and several of the PhD students working in the department.

During his stay, Yvan gave a talk in two places:

- The Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Science in Warsaw. Many thanks to everybody there, especially (but not exclusively) to Prof. Agnieszka Szumna, Dr Michał Michalak and Dr Rafał Loska.

- The Centre of Molecular and Macromolecular Studies of the Polish Academy of Science in Łódź. Special thanks are addressed, among others, to Prof. Józef Drabowicz, Prof. Piotr Kiełbasiński and Prof. Marian Mikołajczyk.

These two weeks at the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Łódź also gave Yvan the opportunity to attend three PhD defences, a superb lecture by Prof. Debabrata Maiti and an outstanding International Mini-Symposium on Carbene Chemistry, with great speakers from all Europe: Karol Grela, Samuel Dagorne, Zbigniew Rafiński, Artur Mardyukov, Alexander Khlebnikov, Lionel Delaude, Frédéric Lamaty, Anna Kajetanowicz and Aneta Wróblewska.
